Get Up

Written on 05 060820 1134

The righteous may fall seven times but he will always get up. Proverbs 24:16

The path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter until the perfect day. Proverbs 4:18

Seven times signifies a continual state. A state to which there is no end until the perfect day-the day that the Lord returns and and redeems His purchased possession. Ephesians 1:11-14

This is hugely encouraging because as long as we have our eyes on the Lord and our hearts are set on Him He lifts us up. We are admonished to move forward and not look at the things that are behind us. This is renewal. His mercies are new every morning. Though our old man is dying, our new man is being renewed day by day. We are being conformed to the image of Yeshua. Philippians 3:12-16 (NASB) | Lamentations 3:20-24 | 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 | Romans 8:28-30

When we fall into sin we should repent with Godly sorrow which will bring us newness of life. When we hurt a loved one we should ask the Lord for forgiveness and in turn ask the person we hurt for forgiveness. The Lord forgives us when we come to him therefore we should forgive ourselves and move forward with Him.

2 Corinthians 7:10

We are in service for the Lord. We shouldn’t give place to the accuser of the brethren to prevent us from serving the Lord. When we keep our eyes on the Lord and walk in the Spirit there is no condemnation. No condemnation!

We are free from sin. We are free from the law of the letter when we walk in the Law of Liberty which is the Law of the Spirit of Life. Obviously this does not give us license to sin. We are called to be Holy as He is Holy. Let not the fear of sin prevent us from experiencing the freedom He promises us in the knowledge of the truth for we have not received a spirit of fear but a Spirit of love and of power and of a sound mind, His perfect love casts out all fear and His truth sets us free.

Revelation 12:10 | Romans 8:1-17 | James 1:25 | Jon 8:31-38 | Romans 6:1-7 | Leviticus 19:2-3 | 2 Timothy 1:7 | 1 John 4:15-21 | John 8:31

We can only understand the things of God by the Spirit of God so let us draw near to Him. The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Let us put to death the flesh with its lusts and desires and let us walk in the Spirit for in the Spirit we have the mind of Yeshua the Messiah. 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 | Matthew 26:41 | Galatians 5:16-26

Let us seek the Lord. Let us spend time with Him. Let us draw near to Him and He will draw near to us. We serve a living God. We have the scriptures and the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, who is with us and who teaches us all things and who testifies of Jesus. Hebrews 10:19-25 | John 14:25-26

Forgive me Lord for the moments when I lose hope. Forgive me for falling into depression because of my reaction to persecution from loved ones. Please increase my faith and help me to forgive them for it is obvious that they do not know what they are doing or what they are saying. Help me Lord to forgive myself for the way I react. Increase my faith that my sorrow may be a Godly sorrow that leads to repentance, salvation and newness of life. In my times of sorrow draw me near to you Lord for you are my source of all things good. Help me to repay good for evil for your call to us is not to revile when we are reviled. Help me to forgive and to discern. Help me to have faith and to know when to turn the other cheek. Help me always get up and seek you.
